During a routine wellness exam, your veterinarian will ask you questions about your dog or cat’s behavior, eating and elimination habits and make sure any issues are addressed.
Your veterinarian will also perform a physical examination of your dog or cat. Based on your pet’s history and physical examination, your veterinarian will then make recommendations for the following:
- Specific preventive medicine treatments such as vaccinations
- Parasite control (including preventive treatments for fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites, ear mites, and heartworm)
- Skin and coat care
- Weight management
- Dental care
In addition, your veterinarian will discuss your dog’s needs and decide whether any other life-stage or lifestyle recommendations would be appropriate.
